An all-new student app that streamlines access to academic and campus services, unifying fragmented systems into one seamless mobile experience.
Over time, the University of Canterbury's (UC) digital ecosystem had become disjointed. Multiple legacy systems, each with separate logins and interfaces, made it difficult for students to complete everyday tasks, from checking timetables and exam results to finding support services or course updates.
This fragmentation created an inconsistent and frustrating user experience. UC needed a solution that would simplify access, reduce friction, and reflect the modern, connected campus experience that today’s students expect.
To achieve this, UC engaged Daylight to design and develop a single mobile app that would unify these systems, improve usability, and act as a central hub for all key academic and campus resources.
Daylight worked as UC's development and delivery partner within a larger cross-functional team, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to build an all-new student mobile app.
Our team led front-end development, back-end integration, and overall technical direction, creating a robust React Native application that seamlessly connects to the University’s existing systems and data sources. The app delivers a consistent, intuitive experience that makes essential services easily accessible, no matter where students are on campus.
