A major digital transformation for one of the Pacific’s most recognised new organisations.
For more than 25 years, the Fiji Sun has been a trusted daily news source for Fijians, with print editions reaching every corner of the country. But as readers’ habits changed, the paper faced an urgent need to evolve.
The challenge was not just about going online - it was about reimagining how an established newsroom could serve audiences in a digital-first era.
The Fiji Sun needed a modern platform that could keep pace with shifting consumption patterns and ensure the long-term sustainability of independent Pacific journalism.
To deliver a complete digital transformation, Daylight partnered with Bastion Digital (Australia), which guided the organisational change, while Daylight designed and built a new publishing ecosystem.
The platform now offers live news, sport, Fijian-language content, dynamic advertising, newsletters, podcasts, and video journalism.
Future phases will introduce subscriptions and first-party data tools to strengthen revenue. The result is more than a website - it’s a digital news service designed to deepen audience connection and secure the Fiji Sun’s future.
