Job description
As a senior art director at Daylight, you will be at the forefront of our creative outputs for a diverse range of high-profile clients. At Daylight, we pride ourselves on telling each story with integrity and meaning. We ensure a deep understanding of the context, the objective of the brief, and the audience we are addressing.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our executive creative director, senior copywriter, junior creative teams, digital, and the craft department. Daylight is a dynamic environment, and you will be expected to conceptualise new ideas and respond to briefs with creativity and strategic insight. You should have a passion for identifying and defining unique insights, staying attuned to cultural trends and shifts, and translating these into compelling ideas with art direction that embodies the essence of the thinking.
You will be responsible for leading the ideation of our key creative briefs and projects, working closely with our digital and craft teams to execute these from start to finish. Working alongside our client service and production teams, you will be expected to present work with confidence, as well as manage workflow with external production partners.
Key expectations of the role
Leading with confidence - while delivering conceptual thinking, you need to be confident in leading cross-channel projects, bringing the team along with you, assigning tasks and delegating effectively.
An eye for craft - Daylight specialises in visual craft. In this role you must be a taste-maker, bringing world class design and art direction thinking to the table every time. A sound knowledge of Adobe suite is essential, and you must be lighting-fast at visualising ideas in conceptual presentations.
Presentation skills - alongside senior account service leads and digital producers, you need to be able to confidently present work, sell ideas and defend thinking.
Strategic thinker - we’re looking for creative leaders who have a passion for delivering strategic ideas, built from a core insight and which deliver on the objectives of the brief.
Mentorship - you will be working with junior creative and craft team members - this role needs to lead from the front, giving support, guidance and direction on projects.
Specific responsibilities:
- Leading concept and idea development across our portfolio of clients
- Setting art direction and core design thinking working alongside Daylight's craft team
- Working closely with executive creative director and director of product to lead creative thinking across traditional and digital mediums
- Leading creative presentations to clients, alongside account service and production teams
- Working with junior teams to build and develop ideas
- Working across the business to oversee execution and ensure quality of work
Requirements:
- 5+ years of agency experience
- Proficiency Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
- Experience in google slides - our primary form of presentation software
- Preference for Figma experience
